Dom/me Experience

by Ashtarot - 06.01.1999

We received the following statement recently and I want to make a few comments on this issue:

"Some of us beginners have been told that in order to experience being a master/mistress, you must be put through slave training. Perhaps you could shed some light upon this theory, I am not interested in being submissive."

First of all - the above statement is wrong.
No Dominant needs to be put through a slave training to be a good Mistress/Master.

But - it can be helpful to experience "both sides of the story", so to speak. It helps a great deal to know how your sub feels in certain situation - be it physical or mental "pressure".
Sure, every sub is different and feels different, we are all unique beings - but can you know the emotions being bound and blindfolded without ever experiencing it yourself? Can you imagine how far you can go without overstepping the limits if you never felt the helplessness in such a situation?

You don't need to be a submissive to experience those emotions and situations, but it can be a helpful experience to try it.
